We took a small team to the Maldives to film content for the launch of the Suunto Eon Core. It sounds like a dream job and in a way it was however it required a lot of careful planning, coordination and a highly skilled team. We traveled on a Live Aboard which enabled us to get to some spectacular underwater locations but it meant that we didnt have much flexibility as we were covering big distances. We cast the film from within the professional dive community as we were looking for authentic experienced divers who could also act as credible Suunto advocates and look good on camera. Altogether we delivered 15 films from this trip. Here are a couple! The inspirational film ‘Why I Dive ‘ is directed by Janne Suhonen and the product film is directed by Leandro Righini - filming credits go to Leandro and Janne.
Veikka Gustafsson is Finlands preeminent explorer. He has conquered all of the worlds highest peaks. Now he is looking a little closer to home and taking on the three highest peaks in the Baltics. The great news is that they are so low, so easy that he can literally knock them off before lunch and then spend the rest of the day exploring the Baltics! This was produced for Tallink and aired on Ruutu, SubTV and online.
We made the worlds most uneventful VR experience for Kone’s connected escalator service. This was a complex project since we had to create an infinity loop that gave you the feeling of moving on the escalator but never let you get anywhere! Uneventful…just like escalators should be ;)
Postcards from Malmö was done for Malmö’s official channel “Malmö Town” in winter 2018 and was a collaboration between VR-director Leandro Righini at Make Films and the SceneThere production team.
There is something powerful about bring taken around a city by a local. It allows you as a visitor to create an immediate connection, diving deep into local culture and cuisine. Maybe your host skips the most popular tourist sights because they have a passion for street art or falafel. That’s local travel.
We created 5 explorable 360 tours with each tour being lead by a local. On the tour you are joined by a companion. He is a tourist who will be there to help you through the experience and keep you engaged.
The 5 tours are:
A VIP-visit on top of the famous Öresund Bron
Fine Dining at Malmö’s 2 star Michelin restaurant “Vollmers”
A tour around Fallafel Street
Malmö’s traditional sauna: Ribbans Kallbadhus
A Roller Derby championship
These explorable 360 tours combined with stand alone 360 video snippets and 360 stills are the Postcards from Malmö.
The story is the red thread and creates the interest and engagement. The Postcards forms the frame.
This experience is best viewed in an Oculus Go headset or Samsung’s GearVR headset.

Co-production with Loikka Dance festival this beautiful dance film was produced by Leandro Righini, Hanna Pajala and Directed by Alla Kovgan
Mystical stories about Finnish accordion collected by the accordion virtuoso and composer Anne-Mari Kivimäki; dazzling and wicked performances of Reetta-Kaisa Iles – an eclectic mix of Finnish folk and contemporary dance traditions; fierce ethno-rock sounds of Kivimäki/Iles band "Puhti" inspired an award-winning filmmaker Alla Kovgan to dive into virtual reality. The result is Devil's Lungs, a surreal deadpan 3D VR 360º experience, challenging boundaries between traditional and contemporary, male and female, hellish and heavenly, ecstatic and everyday, celebrating power of women through Finnish music and dance.
We were asked to make a film for an upcoming product update for Fiskars Functional Form…the only trouble was that the product didn’t yet have a marketing concept in place yet. So we were hired to create the marketing concept, then work with Fiskars and their agencies to create the content and how it would be implemented across all their channels . The result was ‘ The Everyday Hero’.

Eve Tech had a long list of features and loyal community of followers. I had the challenge of concepting a film that bought together the passion of their community and the awesomeness of their vision of a better computer. This was a great example of trust. We all set out to make a film together, listening to each other and finding the right balance between all the needs and goals. I think the film reflects this relationship.
Make Films wrote and Directed this film for Suunto. It was an immediate success on Facebook with excellent natural reach, lots of shares and comments.

Fiskars wanted a film to celebrate the anniversary of their iconic orange scissors. The idea for the film was to withheld the scissors, to focus on the doing, the result of scissors and then gradually reveal the product as the video progressed.

We were asked to create a series of video from existing archives of interviews with Suunto athletes. The Suunto Adventure series is an authentic and compelling look into the minds of some amazing athletes. There are seven films in the series as well as supporting Instagram video’s which we used to tease out the videos on social media.
